ISO 45001 Update 3

ISO 45001 Update 3

Mark it in your diary … the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) has announced that an FDIS (final draft international standard) of ISO 45001, the international standard for OHS management systems, will be required.  ISO has provided a provisional publication date of 27 November 2017 for the FDIS, which should be available for purchase here when it is released.

Given this information, the final ISO 45001 should be released in the first half of 2018, with ISO providing an expected ballpark date of March 2018.

While many sources are reporting that ISO 45001 will, or is likely to, replace BS OHSAS 18001 and/or AS/NZS 4801, we haven’t yet had official word of this from ISO.  We’ll keep you updated when we hear more about the implications of the release of ISO 45001.

But one thing is for certain: we’ll be using our upcoming holidays to work on our tans get acquainted with the FDIS.  Happy reading, everyone!

Some light reading for the holidays
